Gain or Build Your Experience

Gain or build your experience in the fields of Education, Psychology, Social Work and Behavior Analysis. Frequently recruited positions:

Behavioral Health Professionals
BHPs work directly with children with autism and other developmental disabilities in home and community settings. Work independently providing one-to-one support to children and as part of a treatment team to help children acquire lifelong skills.

Candidates for BHP positions must have:

  • GED or high school diploma
  • Valid Maine driver's license
  • Use of reliable vehicle
  • Flexible schedule

  • Experience with autism or developmental disabilities is helpful but not required
  • Training and supervision provided
  • BHP positions are typically full-time
  • Shifts are typically in the late afternoon, early evenings and/or on weekends
  • Great opportunity for college students

Direct Support Professionals
DSPs work directly with adults with developmental or intellectual disabilities in the individual's home. They work as part of a team to help individuals learn daily living skills, participate in community activities and work on the achievement of their goals.

Candidates for DSP must have:

  • GED or high school diploma
  • Valid Maine driver's license
  • Use of reliable vehicle
  • DSP certification or successful completion of the full DSP course within 6 months of hire (paid by Woodfords)
  • CRMA certification or successful completion of CRMA course (paid by Woodfords) within 6 months of hire
  • Willingness to assist with personal care, basic cooking skills
  • Good physical strength
  • A positive attitude and high energy level
  • Good documentation skills

Teacher Assistants
TAs are responsible for working with Lead Teachers to guide children, ages 3 to 5, toward the fulfillment of their potential for cognitive, social and emotional growth, and maturation. The position offers valuable experience and training in a specialized education program utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.

Candidates for TA positions must have:

  • Bachelor's or 90 college credit hours
  • Ed. Tech III Certificate or willingness to attain Ed Tech III certification from the State of Maine Department of Education (certification fees paid by Woodfords)
  • Reliable transportation
  • Ability to work Monday-Friday, year-round, with some flexibility
  • Passion for teaching children
  • A favorable background check
  • Good documentation skills
