We’ve had a full month of celebration with podcasts, radio spots, baseball games, delivering dinners, training, attending conferences, and more, all to recognize and thank our incredible foster families, to learn how to better support kids in foster care, and to increase awareness about the need for foster families. We would be happy to connect with you or someone you know who might be interested in foster parenting, or may want to learn ways to help kids and teens in foster care and their foster parents. Happy Birthday. They look delicious!

We are thankful for all those who support and care for kids and teens in foster care, and continuing to highlight some of our foster and adoptive families.

Shane has opened his home to foster children since 2016. Shane always wanted a big family, and to give back, which is why he became a foster parent. He wanted to help as many children as he could. Shane feels happiest when the children in his home are happy. He finds it most rewarding when children get to experience new things that they may have never had an opportunity to do before. His favorite memory of his foster journey is adopting some of the children that were placed in his home. So many things about the adoption day made it so wonderful for everyone involved. When asked what made him want to foster and adopt, Shane shared “I have always wanted a big family. At the end of the day, I want to be the person who provided for as many as I could, and make their lives as happy as possible. I want kids who come into my home to have a sense of love and happiness. I want them to know there is always a place for them to go."

We are always looking for individuals couples to join us as Therapeutic Foster Parents. If you or someone you know has considered foster parenting, connect with us to learn more or get started. www.woodfords.org/therapeutic-foster-care/
