Woodfords has an opening for a full-time Lead Teacher position within the Early Childhood Services Preschool Program in Westbrook.

We are currently offering a $500 Bonus

The Early Childhood Services Preschool Program focuses on early intervention for children showing signs of increased behavioral, developmental or mental health issues. Woodfords offers multiple preschools where children with autism, or similar developmental disabilities learn skills to help them function successfully in home, school and community.

Qualifications of the Lead Teacher:
•A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, in special education, early childhood or a related field.
•A minimum of an Ed. Teach III Certificate; and a conditional or full 282 Certification; full 282 certification preferred, from the Maine Department of Education; as well as Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) certification.
•A minimum of two (2) years' experience and the desire to work with children with special needs.
•Training and experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) procedures in educational settings.
•Must be an U.S. Citizen or maintain legal alien status.
•Must have a valid driver's license. Driving to/from field trips may be necessary.

Woodfords’ In Home Support Program provides one-on-one support to children with intellectual disabilities and developmental delays so that they may become active participants in both family and community life.

Our Behavioral Health Professionals (BHPs) work with children in their homes and/or communites on specific goals to increase their skills in behavior management, communication, independent living, self-care, self-help and socialization.

About the Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) Role:

As a Woodfords' Behavioral Health Professional (BHP)
•You will work one-on-one with a child or adolescent with special needs within their home and community focusing on behaviors, social skills, personal and daily routines, as well as community inclusion.
•You will be a key member of the In-Home Support program working independently with the child and cooperatively with a treatment team.
•Your schedule may be flexible allowing you to maintain a work/life balance.

We invest in you and provide you with paid training & opportunities for advancement! We will teach you the skills and strategies needed to be successful.

Key Qualifications of a Behavioral Health Professional (BHP):
•High School Diploma or GED Required. (Higher Education is Preferred)
•Valid driver's license
•A reliable vehicle with current auto insurance
•Experience working with children with autism or intellectual disabilities (Desired, not required)
•Experience using teaching strategies derived from the principles and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) (Desired, not required)
