Woodfords has an opening for a full-time Lead Teacher position within the Early Childhood Services Preschool Program in Westbrook.

We are currently offering a $500 Bonus

The Early Childhood Services Preschool Program focuses on early intervention for children showing signs of increased behavioral, developmental or mental health issues. Woodfords offers multiple preschools where children with autism, or similar developmental disabilities learn skills to help them function successfully in home, school and community.

Qualifications of the Lead Teacher:
•A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree, in special education, early childhood or a related field.
•A minimum of an Ed. Teach III Certificate; and a conditional or full 282 Certification; full 282 certification preferred, from the Maine Department of Education; as well as Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) certification.
•A minimum of two (2) years' experience and the desire to work with children with special needs.
•Training and experience implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) procedures in educational settings.
•Must be an U.S. Citizen or maintain legal alien status.
•Must have a valid driver's license. Driving to/from field trips may be necessary.

Woodfords is seeking dynamic individuals to work full-time as Behavioral Health Professionals (BHPs) within schools and utilize the principles and practices of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to diminish behaviors that interfere with a child's or teen's success at school

•You are compassionate, energetic and a people person!
•You are supportive and have a passion for helping others.
•You have good verbal and written communication skills, and are an excellent problem solver.
•You are patient, understanding and creative.
•You're a dynamic individual who wants to impact the lives of children and teens with special needs and their families!

Students working toward an associate's or bachelor's degree in psychology, social services, education, or related field are encouraged to apply!

About the School-Based Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) Role:

As a Woodfords' School-Based Behavioral Health Professional (BHP):
•You will work one-on-one with a child or adolescent with special needs within a public school setting working on behaviors, social skills, personal and daily routines, as well as community inclusion.
•You will use strategies based on the principles and practices of applied behavior analysis to address challenging behaviors and learning deficits in children with developmental disabilities.
•You will be a key member of either the In Home Support or School Based Day Treatment program, working independently with the child and cooperatively with a treatment team.

Role of the Behavioral Health Professional (BHP):

As a Woodfords' Children's HCT Behavioral Health Professional (BHP):
•You will work one-on-one with a child or adolescent with special needs providing regular home and community visits with individuals and their families, both independently and together.
•You will maintain compliance with all regulations related to DHHS, documentation and billing.
•You will help implement treatment plans.
•You will be a key member of the Home & Community Treatment program working independently with the child and cooperatively with a treatment team.
•Your schedule may be flexible allowing you to maintain a work/life balance.

Key Qualifications of a HCT Behavioral Health Professional (BHP):
•Bachelor's degree is required (Bachelor's in social services, human services, health or education preferred).
•Bachelor's degree in an unrelated field will be considered.
•Ability to work independently in home and community settings required.
•Expectation of completing the full Behavioral Health Professional Certification within one year of date of hire.
•Candidates will have a valid Maine Driver's license; have the use of a reliable vehicle.
•Flexibility to work late afternoons and early evenings, and possibly weekend hours.
