Participants are required to attend all scheduled classes. Additional Requirements for Participants: Must be 18 years of age or older\, must possess a high school diploma or GED\, must be currently employed by a facility where the class participant is able to complete the required medication passes.\nAll classes are 8:30 am – 5:00 pm and all students must be able to attend class on all three dates. Price does not include medication passes. \nNote this training is three days and attendance is required each day

DESCRIPTION:Safety-Care for Families provides parents\, family members and caregivers with the skills\, interventions and confidence needed to improve behavior and to prevent\, minimize and manage potentially dangerous incidents. \n Advanced Skills Part I topics include use of behavioral momentum to improve cooperation\, advanced de-escalation strategies\, management of weapons\, basic physical safety skills\, releasing from holds. \nPrerequisites: Essential Skills Part I & Essential Skills Part II \nA Safety-Care for Families Referral Form signed by a state-licensed physician\, nurse practitioner\, psychologist\, social worker\, mental health counselor\, or BCBA is required for attendance at the Advanced Skills sessions due to the physical component. \nThis training is free to families currently receiving services through Woodfords; for all others the fee is $25. \nAdvanced registration required. Discussion topics include regulations and procedures\, effects of medications\, precautions\, handling and storage of medications\, the rights and safety of clients\, and documentation. Participants will learn safe\, accurate\, and appropriate methods of administering medications. Test scores are reported on the final day of the course. Participants are required to attend all scheduled classes. Additional Requirements for Participants: Must be 18 years of age or older\, must possess a high school diploma or GED\, must be currently employed by a facility where the class participant is able to complete the required medication passes.\nAll classes are 8:30 am – 5:00 pm and all students must be able to attend class on all three dates. Price does not include medication passes. \nNote this training is three days and attendance is required each day
