Psychiatry Services

Woodfords’ Psychiatry Services program provides treatment and management of developmental, mental health, and/or co-occurring disorders for children and adults. The program has particular experience in serving individuals with autism or intellectual disabilities. Individuals receive services appropriate to their needs over time and may be seen by the psychiatrist or physician assistant depending on the situation.

Services
  • Comprehensive evaluations of individuals
  • Medication management
  • Ongoing reviews of progress through medication reviews and team collaboration
  • Treatment planning that evaluates current needs and ongoing progress in service
  • Collaboration with treatment team members and primary care physicians
Eligibility & Referrals

Children and adults who have MaineCare or are MaineCare-eligible and meet APS Managed Care authorization criteria and basic level of care screening criteria.

Woodfords is currently accepting referrals for any child in need of services and adults with developmental disabilities. Woodfords has some limits on the type and severity of mental health issues that can be addressed through the Psychiatry program, particularly for adults where we serve individuals with developmental disabilities. We also require that adults have developmental disability case management and/or another formal waiver service involved. To submit a referral, please download our referral form below.

“We are both impressed with the Physician Assistant. He puts us at ease, reassures us, never pressures, but instead educates us and provides helpful options. We are so grateful to be at Woodfords.”—Woodfords Family
