Woodfords Accepting T-Rec Applications Beginning January 1st

Woodfords is accepting T-Rec applications for January - March activities beginning Saturday, January 1, 2011.The Therapeutic Recreation (TREC) funding program allows children with special needs the opportunity to interact with peers and their community in recreational activities that support the teaching of life-long skills. Woodfords assists families in applying for funding and also guides families through the process of finding therapeutic activities. This funding support is provided by the State of Maine’s Children Behavioral Health Services (CBHS) and is administered by Woodfords Family Services.
To be eligible for Therapeutic Recreation funding, a child must be receiving Case Management services or be eligible for Case Management services and his/her diagnosis must be one or more of the following: Developmental Delay, Mental Retardation, Autism, Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) or documentation of an emotional or behavioral disability.
TREC requests can be made for a number of activities with a possible total approval amount of up to $150.00 per child, per fiscal year, as funds allow. There is no guarantee that a child will be approved for this amount or even the total amount requested. A separate application must be submitted for each activity and child.
